Instructions
1. Start in a standing position with your feet shoulder-width apart and arms at your sides.
2. Begin by raising your left knee towards your chest while simultaneously twisting your torso to bring your right elbow towards the raised knee, engaging your obliques.
3. Lower your left leg back to the starting position while simultaneously raising both arms straight overhead, coming into the star position indicated by the second image.
4. Repeat the movement with the opposite limbs - raise your right knee and twist to bring your left elbow towards the raised knee.
5. Return to the star position with both arms raised overhead before alternating with the next knee raise and twist.
6. Continue this pattern, alternating sides for each knee raise and twist with the arms-raised star position in between.
7. Perform the movement at a consistent and controlled pace, focusing on maintaining balance and engaging your core.
Cues: - Keep your core tight throughout the movement to support your balance and maximize engagement of the oblique muscles. - Move through the transition from the twist to the star position smoothly, without jerky movements. - Make sure to breathe steadily, exhaling as you bring the knee up and elbow across the body, and inhaling as you return to the star position. - Aim to perform the exercise with proper form rather than speed, as form is critical to effectiveness and reducing the risk of injury.
