Instructions

1. Begin by sitting in a comfortable, upright position with your legs crossed or in a chair, ensuring your spine is straight.

2. Gently place your hands behind your head with your fingers interlocked. Your elbows should be pointed outwards to the sides.

3. Inhale deeply and as you exhale, slowly use your hands to guide your head downward, bringing your chin towards your chest. Apply a gentle pressure to feel a stretch in the back of your neck.

4. Hold the stretch for 15-30 seconds, focusing on relaxing your neck muscles.

5. Carefully release the stretch and bring your head back to a neutral position.

6. Next, gently tilt your head to one side, lowering your ear towards the shoulder while keeping your opposite shoulder pressed downward. Support the tilt by placing the hand from the same side on top of your head, applying slight pressure for an increased stretch.

7. Hold this lateral stretch for 15-30 seconds, then slowly return to the starting position.

8. Repeat the lateral stretch on the other side.

9. Perform the entire sequence 1-3 times, as needed for relaxation or to relieve muscle tension.

Remember to breathe steadily throughout the stretch and to avoid any jerking or sudden movements. Stretching should cause a mild, tension-relieving sensation, not pain.
