Instructions

Bodyweight Poliquin Step from Step Box

Starting Position

1. Stand in front of the step box with your feet shoulder-width apart.
2. Place one foot on the step box, ensuring your entire foot is flat on the surface.
3. Keep your other foot slightly lifted off the ground, about an inch or so above it.
4. Maintain an upright posture with your chest up and shoulders relaxed.

Movement Instructions

1. Step Up: Press through the foot on the step box to lift your body up while bringing the other foot onto the box.
2. Control Descent: Slowly lower your back foot down to the ground, ensuring you maintain balance on the step box.
3. Repetition: Push back up onto the step box again using the same foot, then lower down.
4. Alternate Feet: After completing several repetitions (8-12) on one side, switch to the other foot and repeat the process.

Tips

- Focus on engaging your leg muscles, particularly your quadriceps and glutes, during each step.
- Maintain a steady and controlled movement throughout the exercise to avoid injury.
- Always ensure your foot is completely planted on the step before shifting your weight.

Cool Down

- After completing your sets, step down from the box and perform some gentle leg stretches to cool down.
